We love partnering with individuals and groups from the local community. Our volunteers have the life-changing opportunity to meet Bittersweet’s participants and engage in meaningful and rewarding work, all in a beautiful farmstead setting.

Please note: We do not currently have any volunteer opportunities for minors. Please check our website and social platforms for updates as they become available.
Volunteer opportunities at Bittersweet have included:
Outdoor projects, such as landscaping, gardening, and barn work
Teen mentoring in our Social Recreation Program
Individual volunteer placements in Day Program areas, such as Culinary or Creative Arts
Andrew Kranjec, a volunteer in the Social Recreation Program, shares his experience volunteering at Bittersweet:
"I initially started mentoring when I got a volunteering assignment in school. We were told to step out of our comfort zones and try something new. With that in the back of my mind, I decided to try mentoring with Bittersweet Farms. I started because of a school assignment, but I stayed because of the people, smiling faces, and the fun. Everyone that I have met and become friends with are wonderful people. They are energetic, nice, funny, and most importantly friendly."
